Michael Ignatieff Messed With Bob Rae, And Never Stopped Till He Was Done

Iggy says he wants to raise the bar in politics. He cries foul over Tory ads showing his own words. This is not the way politics should be done he says. Pot meet kettle:

November 09, 2006
Never Retreat, Never Explain, Never Apologize
On Tuesday, The Canadian Press reported "Michael Ignatieff's front-running Liberal leadership campaign was dinged $1,000 yesterday for making unsubstantiated accusations of fraud against chief rival Bob Rae." But the party's permanent appeal committee also chastised the campaign for the "inflammatory tone of the notice of appeal filed in this matter. The notice of appeal contains numerous allegations of fraud, many of which even if proven would have been entirely irrelevant. However, no attempt was made in the course of the hearing to prove even one of those allegations. Regrettably, and contrary to the Rules of the Permanent Appeals Committee, the notice of appeal found its way into the public domain well before our hearing, and the unproven allegations have been the subject of considerable media comment, to the detriment of a number of individuals, campaigns, and the Party." Which makes one wonder, will Mr. Ignatieff's organizers be issuing an apology to the Rae campaign - specifically former British Columbia chair Mason Loh?
In an interview with Public Eye, press secretary Alicia Johnson answered that question this way: "The party has asked us, as per the appeal process, not to speak to the media about it." But, so far, no apology has been forthcoming. And none is expected. Although our understanding is that there may be some regrets about the language that was used in the appeal.

The stuff that keeps surfacing from that 2005-06 period is making it pretty hard, to stifle the giggles.
Was the phrase 'back stabber' invented then? Ha!
These Liberals, just keep writing the truth ads, with their own internal chaos.
Sort of like a dysfunctional family that fakes everything externally but internally, they are an actively simmering, volcano.

what is this thing shout at the conservatives over the deficits when the opposition want to impliment 3months work then acquire 52wks of E.I. Can you imagine the worse of it and the huge debt we go that route.

Do you know how nasty that party is. It is so rotten that the media is down with them.
CORRUPTION
THIEVERY
ADSCAM
SUPPORT FOR TERRORIST GROUPS
40MILLION DOLLARS STILLING MISSING
FUNDS WERE CUT TOO INFRASTRUCTURE, HEALTH, EDUCATION, MILITARY, PROVINCES
EI SCANDAL
PAUL MARTIN TAKING $16I MILLION TAYPAYERS MONEY FOR HIS SHIPPING COMPANY.
Jean CHRETIEN TAKING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM TAXPAYERS FOR HIS HOTEL AND GOLF COURSE.
I am sure there is more.
But what boggles my mind is how the MSM care not so much of the occurances yet anger over what the conservatives have to do at a time like this. people lost their jobs businesses etc and so far not a msm has demanded from the liberals to return the money.
Remember the conservative budget and their plans and do you remember what the opposition did.
Remember also the liberals said that they have no intentions of wearing the recession on their shoulders.

What would the deficit be without paying that 1.98/vote. If the opposition was so concerned about the deficit, it would voluntarily give that money back to the taxpayers.

If I remember right, PMSH said it would cost the conservatives 10 million dollars. They were prepared to give it up, but a coalition was brought to life to say no. Guess the opposition is not serious about helping out canadians if it means money out of their pocket.

I am pretty sure Paul, that Iffy called for a cap on equalization when he was campaigning for Lib leader. Now he has caved to Danny and Charest.
Lots of goodies from that campaign.

the great uniter divides the LPC:
Oct 2006
''Many senior Liberals were outraged over what they viewed as Ignatieff’s crass and myopic maneuver,
saying it betrays nearly 50 years of party history and runs counter to the legacies of Lester Pearson, Pierre Trudeau and Jean Chretien, who battled fiercely to engage but not pander to Quebec.
At best, this is insensitive, or worse, it’s a Paul-Martin-esque pandering to the votes of soft separatists.

This is where Ignatieff’s nearly three decades of living outside of Canada — not to mention his obvious political inexperience — shows through.''
