Uh Oh! It looks like Jane Taber's latest effort to get the Liberal spin out might backfire this time. IRuby and her lawyer have claimed that IRuby was not involved in the hiring of the nannies, and that any questions should be put to her brother Neil. Overworked, underpaid, working illegally, non-legal basement apartment, holding passports illegally? No one knows if these allegations will be proven or not. But the problem most people have with IRuby's "I know nothing" defence, is that the home is her primary residence, and anyone with any contact with her seems to be of the opinion that it is unfathomable Dhalla was unaware of what was going on with the nannies. IRuby has certainly had a few rough weeks, and it looks like Taber thought to give IRuby and her shattered reputation a bit of help. But she might have just done more damage. I quote this part of Taber's column:
" Now, of course, she is the target of something much more serious - allegations that she underpaid, overworked and mistreated women she had hired to care for her 62-year-old mother, Tavinder. This week, the women, immigrants from the Philippines, gave an emotional account of that treatment before a Commons committee, as did Ms. Dhalla".
I think I read that right. "She had hired".
Oh my. and this comes just days after Iggy had made a similar statement.
"Taking reporters' questions for the first time on the Dhalla controversy, Ignatieff said yesterday: "I think Ruby made a vigorous defence of her integrity, her honour and her treatment of these - the people in her employ."
Lucy, someones got some 'splainin to do.
p.s- Ive done a copy and paste of Taber's complete column, as well as saved a copy of the page in case this somehow gets reworded.

IRuby's "I know nothing" defence
Isn't that called Sgt. Schultz Syndrome?
Good work....
It's interesting that IRuby says that she has little knowledge of what went on in her own house, but thinks she can be an effective politician. Must be far sighted
Would Apple go after us if started using lowercase i as in iRuby ?
Good work, Paul. Do you have a link? Thanks.

Boy you could read that two different ways. Sloppy reporting on the part of Jane Taber, that's for sure.
ie. was the line about IRuby doing the hiring part of the allegation or not?
