Wynne Makes McGuinty Look Like Featherweight With $5.7 Billion Attempt At Vote Buying

Proving the gas-plant scandal is nothing more than a minor irritation, Kathleen Wynne is looking to trump the $1 billion dollar attempt at winning an election by a staggering $4.7 billion dollars more than her predecessor Dalton McGuinty. Leaked documents today show $5.7 billion in spending announcements planned over the next 30 days ahead of the May 1st budget date. Both Wynne and her finance minister would not deny the details of the leaked document were true.

$5.7 billion dollars. Really makes those Economic Action Plan commercials by the federal Conservative government look like chump change, eh? Think about it. An unelected premier, whose party and government are involved in multiple police investigations, one of which centers around a political decision with the purpose of buying some Liberal seats in the most recent Ontario election, thinks she has the moral authority to do it again, at a cost of $5.7 billion?

What needs to happen is this. Let Wynne make her spending announcements, now clearly a blatant attempt at securing votes. Let her government present the budget. Then the NDP leader needs to stop sucking and blowing at the same time. It's wonderful to walk out of the legislature in disgust at Wynne snubbing her nose by doing photo ops in the Sault rather answer questions related to the scandal in Question Period. But that action needs to be followed up with voting against the budget and forcing an election.

What Horwath has been doing is akin to poor parenting. She feigns indignation at the badly behaving child, in this case Wynne, and then buys her whatever toys Wynne wants at Toys-R-Us. She lectures the child on being responsible, then turns her back while the child plays with matches and razor blades. It's no secret Ontario is heading towards a financial apocalypse. Doubled provincial debt, credit downgrades and out of control spending are the result of the McGuinty/Wynne Liberal government which has no intention whatsoever of changing it's Titanic like course of destroying the province with it's only goal being retaining power.

Horwath was just given 5.7 billion more reasons to end this destruction. If she again allows Wynne and the Liberals to retain power she wears this as much if not more than Wynne. In a province of millions, Andrea Horwath and Kathleen Wynne have put their own self interests first, with no thought whatsoever of the long term harm being done to the province. Pity!
