Ontario Election 2018: Wynne "Free Daycare" Promise Completely Contradicts Justin Trudeau's Stance on Child Care

 Hello. With the 2018 Ontario election quickly approaching it's time to fire up the blog in my attempt to make Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne the former Premier. With Wynne desperately putting us another $8 billion in debt by promising wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars trying to buy any vote possible, this blog will show why Wynne's "free daycare" is not only wrong, but completely at odds with our Liberal PM, Justin Trudeau.

 So lets get started. Wynne's desperate attempt to lure voters, most notably those in the GTA, involves taking $2.2 billion of taxpayer dollars, dollars that include taxes taken from low-income earners, seniors, and gasp, Wynne's new BFFs, those making minimum wage, and giving it to families regardless of income. There is no means test, meaning the head of, say Hydro One, who earned $6.2 million last year, (which includes a $1.7 million raise from previous year?), would be eligible for $17K in savings per eligible child. Does that seem fair? Hmm, let's see what PM Justin Trudeau's thinking on this is. I look forward to Doug Ford pointing this out to Wynne and the media, and asking both her and the PM to square this circle:

 "The Liberal leader maintains it's wrong to give the benefit to wealthy families that don't need help raising their kids. And to underscore that point, he's going to give his own family's windfall to charity.

With three young children, one under the age of six, Trudeau is entitled to collect annual UCCB payments of about $3,400.

In an interview Tuesday, he said he'll give that money to La Maison Bleue, a charitable group in his Montreal riding devoted to helping vulnerable women during pregnancy and the early days of motherhood.

Child care benefits should go to families who need the help, "not families like mine or Mr. (Prime Minister Stephen) Harper's," Trudeau told The Canadian Press.

"When it comes to child benefits, fair doesn't mean giving everyone the same thing, it means giving people what they need."

CTV Response To My CBSC Complaint Of Craig Oliver Hate Rant Against Harper

Not that I expected anything different. I've advised the Canadian Broadcasting Standards Council the response was unacceptable and am seeking their adjudication on the matter:

"I am writing in response to your complaint sent to the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC). First I want to thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding our Election Night coverage. We want you to know that we take viewer concerns very seriously. In your correspondence you express concern over comments and analysis made by long time broadcaster and political commentator Craig Oliver regarding the defeat of the Conservative government and, more specifically, the role of former Prime Minister Stephen Harper in that defeat.

Our election night coverage was a major live broadcast featuring an anchor, reporters, and commentators, along with a diverse range of specially selected guests from across Canada. We strive to represent not only the country and its many regions, but also to provide as complete a spectrum of political thought and viewpoints as we can. Our guest panelists on the broadcast fulfilled that goal, as we featured current and former MP’s and top officials from the three major parties. Their viewpoints on the election were entirely unscripted, live, and dynamic as election results came in throughout the broadcast. We also looked to our diverse range of commentators that night for insight into what was unfolding and why.

Elections are among the most important stories we cover, affecting our country, our communities and our viewers who trust us to inform them. Craig Oliver was one of those commentators, and was selected to participate in our Election night coverage due to his vast knowledge of the Canadian political scene. Mr. Oliver has covered countless campaigns over the years and has been a fixture on Parliament Hill for decades. We also note that the Commission has recognized that news coverage should generally be left to the editorial judgment of the broadcaster. As well it is fundamental to freedom of expression in a democratic society that broadcasters be allowed to criticize government policies and actions."

Elections Canada Confirms Kathleen Wynne Expenses Must Be Paid And Claimed By Trudeau Liberals.

Yesterday I filed a complaint with Elections Canada over Kathleen Wynne campaigning for Justin Trudeau and the associated costs. Today alone she attended 4 different Liberal candidate events. She also brings with her staff whose costs must also be claimed by the Federal Liberals and or local ridings.

To their credit, Elections Canada replied , and before even 24 hours after I filed the complaint. They confirmed I was correct and that they were going to refer the complaint to the Commissioner of Canada Elections. They also took it a step further and suggested I file a complaint with the Ontario Ombudsman as well, which I will do in the morning. The following is the text of the email I received from Elections Canada:

 "Expenses related to a person’s involvement in a candidate’s campaign are election expenses and have to be authorized in writing by the candidate’s official agent. Any expense incurred in relation to the campaign has to be reimbursed using the candidate’s campaign funds or should be treated as a contribution from an individual.

The official agent of a candidate is obligated to record these expenses in the electoral campaign return of the candidate which is submitted to Elections Canada no later than four months after election day. In order to understand whether there has been a breach of the Canada Elections Act in this regard; the electoral return of the candidate would have to reviewed to ensure these expenses were included on the return.

However, in the meantime, we will refer this matter to the Commissioner of Canada Elections. You might also want to file a complaint with the Ombudsman for the Ontario government.".

 I would like to thank Elections Canada personally for their swift attention to my complaint.

Debunking That Media Conspiracy of Conservative Pre-Screening Events By The One-Third Media.

 The One-Third media, (I'll explain that in a bit), seems to really be pushing the phony mantra about Conservatives "pre-screening" every person attending a campaign event by the PM. What does that "pre-screening" entail? A simple phone call or stop at the local campaign office to add your name to those attending.

 Now the One-Third Media makes it sound as if you go through some intricate vetting process. Problem is thats as big a lie as Kathleen Wynne saying she will budget the Ontario budget in 2017. And how do I know? Because I've attended campaign events. What protocol did I need to do? I simply called called the office, gave my name and also said can you add my friends name as well. The reply was no problem. When we arrived at the event we were asked our names and went into the room of over 1000 people. That's some pretty serious vetting eh?

 Of course this isn't the narrative you will hear from the One-Third Media. By now you must be wondering what the One-Third Media is. Simply it refers to the Canadian media that answers tough questions of the PM, and deservedly so, while ignoring the shortfalls and scandals involving the leaders of the NDP and Liberals, Thomas Mulclair and Justin Trudeau.

 In the case of Mulclair, the party he leads was found to have improperly used $2.7 million dollars of their House of Commons budget for partisan satellite offices, some of which were in riding's or provinces they don't even hold a seat. Now ask yourself, two weeks into the campaign how many questions have been put to Mulclair about this scandal by the One-Third Media? Try ZERO! There have also been a number of controversial comments made by NDP candidates both publicly and on sites such as Twitter. Not only does the One-Third Media not ask questions about these, they actually go out of their way to try and justify it. Much like the head of the One-Third Media, the taxpayer funded CBC, who actually put together a piece in an attempt to deflect from NDP candidate Linda McQuaig's comments about leaving Alberta oil in the ground.

 And Justin Trudeau? Here's the guy who attempted to plagiarize Barack Obama's comment about building the economy from the heart outward and badly mangled the phrase in the process. This is the guy whose biggest endorsement comes from Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, whose own government is the subject of three and counting police investigations. The latest investigation deals with allegations of bribery in a by-election in Sudbury. That's notable because that's where Trudeau was today. And what riveting questions did the One-Third Media ask him? Did they ask about being endorsed by a premier whose government is under multiple police investigations? Given the allegations of bribery involving Mike Duffy and non-stop media circus did they ask him his thoughts on Wynne's involvement in the Sudbury bribery investigation?

 Nope, today's questions for the man running to be Prime Minister were who is your favorite Avenger from the movie chain. Followed in succession with what is your happiest city. That's some Pulitzer Prize journalism for you.

The Destruction of Ontario Healthcareby Liberals. Now It's Personal!

After watching first Dalton McGuinty and now Kathleen Wynne play the voters of Ontario, and more importantly union members for uneducated patsies since 2003, the reality has just clubbed me over the head. My 95 year old mother suffered a stroke last Friday, and the shocking reality of how decimated the Ontario Liberals have transitioned our health care system into in less than 12 years.

 Now this is not directed at the front line workers. The nurses, doctors, and EMS have all been exemplary in the treatment and care of my mother. What's broke is the system, more important;y the Liberal instituted system. Under Mike Harris the board of directors at the local hospital here's salaries counted for 6% of the yearly budget. Today it accounts for 30%. Wanna guess where the cuts have taken place? While the Ajax population has grown leaps and bounds in the last 10 years, McGuinty actually tried to close down the emergency ward, forcing residents to drive to Scarborough for emergency treatment.

 The hospital is badly lacking front line workers. Rooms are a mess. The hospital has cut back on many things that used to be supplied to patients.Are you being discharged today sir? Yes, then don't forget to pay your bill on the way out. If you don't, we'll have collection agencies chase you endlessly. You see, those six-figure salaries paid to our bloated board of directors really add up quick. And there's always another Lib-friendly donor looking for one of those Sunshine List salaries. Parking is $4 per half hour by the way, can I break that $100 bill for you?.

 And to top it all off, nurses are being cut across the province. Word of hospital closures. Cuts to medical services, procedures, medications. Delisting of services covered for decades. And now Wynne is picking a fight with doctors, instead of looking in the mirror at the real culprit for a crashing bankrupt province, headed by a morally deficient Premier whose government is now the subject of four and counting police investigations. Of course the once distinguished OPP is now irreparably tarnished, openly targeting Wynne's main competitor Tim Hudak in the last election with million dollar attack ads. And let's not forget the head of the Ontario Nurses Union, who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on attack ads that kept Wynne's ass in the comfy patronage chair at Queen's Park. Now maybe I'm different, but being a lifelong union member, I'd be more than a little pissed off if my union dues just helped put me out of a job. But I digress.

 It's great to see a premier who puts things like the education of anal sex to sixth graders as a bigger priority than a badly failing healthcare system. A premier who just can't say no to tax increases. service fee increases, while at the same time making cuts and telling us to fear the PC's who might do the same thing. Smokey Thomas had it right. The difference between Tim Hudak and Kathleen Wunne is she will look you right in the eye and lie.

My Letter To The Head Of Elections Ontario.

I, as many other people in the province of Ontario, am deeply disturbed by the news there are allegations of bribery thought to have taken place regarding the Ontario Liberal Party and it's appointment of former NDP MP Glenn Thibault as the Liberal candidate and subsequent winner in the ensuing vote. While news of this was troubling, that intensified when it was reported that you have in fact information to believe laws were broken, and that you have in fact sent the file to a federal prosecutor for investigation and the laying of charges against those involved.

 I would like to bring your attention to comments made by the Premier of Ontario on February 19th, 2015 during a media scrum that was televised on most local networks, During that question and answer session the premier fielded questions about the investigation, and stated that members of the opposition parties had approached her with an offer of resigning their seat as a sitting MPP in exchange for a government appointment that would result in a job position. Whether this statement was true in fact or just an attempt by the Premier to deflect away from possible charges and a new scandal involving her government emerging remains to be seen. In another televised interview on February 22th, the Premier again made these same allegations.  I request that you or those acting on your behalf investigate the televised statement made by the Premier, which in and of itself appears to show that violations involving both electoral and criminal law may have been breached.

 As the Premier of Ontario, the highest office held in this province, it is incumbent for the sitting Premier to address these statements made immediately upon request by your office. The Premier's statements have cast a dark cloud on the legislature, and by extension, the credibility and integrity of both the governing Ontario Liberal's and the entire political process.

Twas The Night Before A Kathleen Wynne Christmas

 Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even Chiarelli's mouth.
The pictures of Wynne were dripping with dew,
In hopes that more taxpayers she could screw.

Sid Ryan was nestled all snug in his bed,
While visions of union dues danced in his head.
While the christmas candles continued to burn
He thought of righties like Stephen Harper, he tossed and he turned.
And then Kathleen Wynne heard a knock on the door,
It was the public sector unions, demanding some more.
Away to the window she flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw them taxpayer cash.

While all this happened the opposition wanted to know
What about the billion dollar scandals, forget the damn snow.
That OPP investigation, we've been asking for days.
Who cares says the OPP, we got an eight percent raise.

So Kathleen Wynne smirked, thought she had it made,
Fitch said not so fast, another credit downgrade So Kathleen deflected, blamed her problems on the fed,
Refusing to acknowlegde, it laid in her own bed!

"More taxes! More fees! I want all your cash!
My new pension sheme will create a new stash!
You voted for me, thought I'd be good,
Forty three percent higher electricity!, you'd better burn wood"

So the Liberals put up turbineswith nary a care,
Free from enviromental laws, rural voters they did scare.
But Wynne doesn't care, says rural voters are sour,
It's Toronto voters who keep us Liberals in power.

And then, on Twitter, I read it right then
Another gas plant supbeona, it was happening again.
Ten thousand dollars, your money, your taxes,
Paid to a Liberal to erase emails, they hid damaging faxes.
The auditor general said the the Liberals were fools,
Chiarelli's comments proved that, man what tools.
Union head Smokey Thomas said Wynne was a liar,
And he was right, her pants are on fire.

So with Ontario a basket case, Wynne demands a meeting!
Harper says no, but John Tory I'll be greeting!
So realizing it's christmas and that again Harper said no,
She says "I need twelve billion dollars, and then I'll go.

So when you wake christmas morning, just remember though,
It's peak rate hours. regardless of snow.
And when the holidays are over, and it's all said and done,
Wynne will find a new tax, you might want to run!

Linda McQuaig Ramps Up Her War On Independant Thought.....

  Another day, another  editorial by uber left wing-nut Linda McQuaig over on  i-politics .McQuuaig regurgitates the talking points of the left, that the evil despicable  Stephen Harper is trying to stop independant thought, this time by forcing Canada Revenue Agency, an arms reach branch of the government no less, to audit the Canadian Center For Policy Alternatives. In McQuaig's socialist-addled mind, CRA auditing a think-tank she agrees with must be something nefarious by that Harper dude. Forget the fact CRA audits are routine procedure for think tanks. And forget the fact CCPA was audited twice before under the previous governments of Mulroney and Chretien (McQuaig did). Oh, she makes a flippant remark about how those were "routine audits" and this one has lasted 11 months, never mentioning the first audit under Mulroney lasted in parts of 1989 and 1990.

 And ignore the fact McQuaig dredges up the Fraser Institute as if it gives her argument validity, imaginary though it may be. She cries that the Fraser Institute gets media coverage for it's yearly Tax Freedom day, proving that shows ties between the institute and Harper, while never mentioning the fact the CCAP gets the exact same coverage for it's yearly Alternative Federal Budget, which by the way is simply talking points of the NDP. So now let's take a look at something McQuaig never mentions, nor do any of those accusing the government of using CRA as muscle against organizations that disagree with it's policy.

 I'm talking about this NEWS STORY FROM 1999. It deals with CRA auditing the Fraser Institute, the latest audit of several the right-wing institute was subjected too. In fact, you can pretty much just change the names Fraser Institute and CCAP in McQuaig's editorial and it's the same story. Something very telling in that 1999 story is this excerpt: "Revenue Canada’s 14-page set of written guidelines for think tanks notes that the Income Tax Act does not contain a definition of “charitable” or “charity”. The guidelines state that the courts have recognized four broad categories of charitable activities: relieving poverty, advancing education, advancing religion, and providing certain other benefits to the community, such as hospitals, public parks, or homes for the elderly.

 Notice that part I underlined about "relieving poverty". That's important. Most on the left have complained Oxfam was warned it's goal can't be to end poverty, it must be to relieve poverty. That's right. The courts ruled this almost a decade before Stephen Harper became PM. Yet those on the left, including politicians and media have tried to intimate this is another example of Harper's heavy hand.

 In regards to McQuaig's editorial, she completely overlooks the fact CRA stated that this audit was partially a result of the previous audits done under Mulroney and Chretien goverments. She is also oblivious to the fact the Fraser Institutes main focus is on taxes, business and the economy, while CCAP pushes changes to government policy, again with a left-wing bend, while criticising the current Conservative government. And that my friends, is the key to the CRA audit. Read this quote from the 1999 article, and tell me how it relates to the Canadian Center For Policy Alternatives.

"Revenue Canada’s written guidelines for think tanks state that “political activities must remain ancillary and incidental and cannot rise to the level of an objective”. According to the guidelines, registered-charity status may be prevented if “the organization’s efforts to influence politicians, bureaucrats, media and public on political matters are a constant, integral and inseparable aspect of its mission”.

 This, in a nutshell is why I blog. The McQuaig's, Wynne's, Trudeau's, who all try to get partisan sound bites to draw votes from those who pay little attention to politics. If ignorance is bliss, McQuaig has enough  bliss for every person in Canada.

2015 Federal Election To Be Like None Ever Seen Before...

 With the Canadian federal election now just a little more than a year away, it's already shaping up to be unprecedented in the way any federal election has been played out before it. First up will be ongoing attacks from both public and private sector unions, such as OFL and Unifor, headed by Sid Ryan and Jerry Dias respectively. The heads of all the major unions appear intent in spending millions on attack ads directed at PM Harper and his Conservative candidates in next years election. Forget the fact the Conservative Party is probably the best choice for their members, including policy of finance and debt, the economy, taxation, and trade that opens up new markets across the globe. We've already laid witness to the Ontario election of 2014 where unions openly and viciously attacked PC leader Tim Hudak and PC candidates across the province. More puzzling is the fact they endorsed the Liberal Party led by Kathleen Wynne, whose party has ramped up taxes, user fees, electricity costs, doubled the debt, while at the same time rewarding those same union members in the private sector with lost jobs, crippling hydro bills, and user fees such as license plate renewal that has almost doubled.  The only saving grace for Conservatives is there are actual rules in place capping the amount spent on third party advertising by Elections Canada. Of course unions are more than willing to break both election and municipal rules to get their chosen Liberal leader into power. The illegal signs posted by the Working Families Coalition a perfect example.

 The second part of the 2015 election will be the media's support of Justin Trudeau and hate for anything Stephen Harper or Conservative. Let's be honest, just like Tim Hudak in Ontario, whoever was leader of the federal Conservative Party would be a target of the media. Oh, the media will try and say it's just paranoia by the PM and Conservative supporters, but when you read editorials like the CP's Joan Bryden trying to lay blame for one of Justin Trudeau's chosen star candidates saying the IDF fired indiscriminately at women and children in Gaza at the Tories, while never even taking a micro-second to ask for Trudeau's comments on those outrageous comments, well, if the media says they are non-partisan then they must all get together and ride their magical unicorns after work everyday, cause, in a word, that's just pure fantasy on their part.

 Of course that's just the latest example. We've seen Trudeau state budgets balance themselves, been called a "bozo" by a long term Liberal MP (again twisted by the media to be the Conservative's fault), seen Trudeau campaign in a mosque who donated to Hamas. We've seen Liberal and NDP MP's found to have broken election laws regarding robocalls, with the media again downplaying the fact they were actually found to have broken laws in one sentence, then writing paragraph after paragraph about supposed robocalls made across Canada by Conservatives, despite the judge's decision in the Michael Sona conviction. We have more of the same, mocking Stephen Harper as a control freak, while praising Justin Trudeau for dictating candidates views on abortion, ignoring the fact he boasts of open nominations, while at the same time rigging riding associations to get his chosen candidate named, which has even resulted in Trudeau facing a lawsuit.

 We've seen Trudeau repay money for improper expenses in regards to a limo ride for one of his speaking engagements, with that same "non-partisan" media, the ones who actually even reported it, saying it was no big deal, just an honest mistake. You know, the same ones who wrote endlessly about Bev Oda's $16 orange juice. We've laid witness to relentless attacks about Rob Ford's addictions. How many people know Liberal MP John McCallum, while serving as a cabinet minister, was denied entry onto an airplane becase he was to drunk? Not very many, as it wasn't deemed newsworthy by many in the media. Then again, McCallum was also caught lying about where his car was built at a campaign stop, insisting his car was North American built, when he knew it wasn't. But hey, not newsworthy, right guys.

 Perhaps the most glaring example of lack of media covering for a Liberal was the COURT DECISION on favor of Francois Beaudoin, who won a lawsuit against the government where the judge ruled he was the victim of attacks from Jean Chretien cronies, trying to ruin him both financially and emotionally, due to the fact he outed Chretien's lie that he never contacted the BDC for that infamous Shawinigate loan, the one that ultimately defaulted, sticking taxpayers with the loss. Try googling this subject. Either the internet has been cleansed or the majority of media just never wanted to report on it.

 In respect to everything written above, the re-election of Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party will certainly face attacks from both unions and media never seen before in a federal election. The 2014 Ontario election will be used as a template to get their chosen one, Justin Trudeau, into 24 Sussex to continue the destruction implemented by his father decades before. And while I begrudgingly admit Pierre Elliot Trudeau did have a natural charisma, Justin's is store bought. Where his father thought and believed in his vision, Justin's is store bought, or rather media paid for. Conservatives across the country need to rally against this attack on democracy, before Justin Trudeau follows the lead of the Ontario Liberals, making Canada a have-not Country much like McGuinty/Wynne have done to Ontario.

2014 Ontario Election Proves Hudak PC's Were Not An Effective & Acceptable Change Of Government Option

 With the 2014 election campaign, with dreams of optimism for Ontario's future now relegated to a nightmare set to last 4 more years under the Kathleen Wynne led Liberals, the talking point that governments need an effective opposition is now becoming painfully clear. And in my opinion, not withstanding the 100,000 job cuts debacle from the PC platform, it is the main reason Kathleen Wynne is premier, Tim Hudak has resigned as PC leader, and PC supporters are now focusing on the new future leader, whoever that may be. Stephen Harper ousted the Liberal Party of Chretien/Martin, who had ruled from 1993 through 2006, by making himself and the Conservative Party of Canada look like a party voters could see as ready for office.

 Reflecting back now on both the 2011 and 2014 Ontario elections, I just don't see Tim Hudak and his party ever having put in place this strategy, which I think directly reflects in the final results of the most recent election. The million jobs pln was a nice slogan, but it's not something I would have run on as the main plank in my campaign. Yes, jobs are a hugely important issue. However, in my opinion, the issues Ontario voters have been dealing with since Dalton McGuinty first got into office on a lie of no new taxes is being able to afford to live in the province. Every Ontario taxpayer feels the effects of McGuinty's "Ontario Health Levy". Given that most Ontario voters had just done their income taxes this tax would have been fresh in their minds. But I don't ever remember neither Hudak nor Horwath even give passing mention to this tax, which did absolutely nothing for Ontario health care, instead going into general revenues for Liberal boondoggles like ORNGE, E-Health, OLG, Green Energy scams, etc. The tax takes in roughly $3 billion per year, so McGuinty/Wynne's grand take so far is in excess of $33 billion. And yet somehow they still managed to add nearly $160 billion onto the provinces debt.

 Another issue would be the implementation of the HST. Can't say as I remember any PC press releases mentioning the fact roughly 11 cents of every litre of gas was due to the Liberal HST being added. Given sky-high gas prices, the fact Hudak never attacked Wynne on this leaves my mind boggled and confused. Nor did he hammer home the cost of the HST to taxpayers on their home heating and electricity costs. Promising to remove these taxes would have been far more effective than the 10% reduction in personal income taxes, especially given the fact McGuinty has forever tarnished voters minds of tax promises with his repeated lies. Also, given a 40 day campaign, if he led off Day 1 of the campaign with this promise, and reiterated it every day, chances are almost every Ontario voter would have received either a heating or electricity bill during the 40 days of the campaign, giving them a taste of the virtual reality the HST has on them and their families.

 Finally, the number one issue of the election should have been electricity costs. The 42% increase in electricity costs affects both taxpayers, as well as small, medium, and big business. Given the scandal of the gas plants, the fact the PC war room thought the million jobs plan should be the almost entire focus of the campaign speaks volumes of the incompetence of those crafting election strategy, and the reason I call for every person involved to either resign or be fired.  Given the fact seniors and retirees are greatly feeling the effects of Liberal energy policies more than most, and given the fact they are the most reliable demographic to actually turn out and vote, not making this the focal point is, in my opinion, as stupid as stupid gets.

 So with all I have written here in mind, I've decided I might be ready to actually step into politics, either as a PC nomination candidate in the next Ontario election, or once given the financing rules for the leadership of the PC Party of Ontario. While I would be the longest shot of anyone entering the race for PC leader, I think it would be a worthwhile effort to have my voice heard, as well as many who comment here, on both the future of the party as well as future of the province. And being a lifetime union member, I would welcome any personal attacks by the Working Families Coalition that would result in face to face live debates where I could rather easily show Ontario voters how corrupt the upper echelons of many of the major unions have become.  And also show Ontario voters there is a road back to the prosperity once enjoyed by the former greatest province in Canada.

The Campaign Platform Tim Hudak Should Have Ran On....

 With some days now passed since the Epic Fail by the PCPO in the 2014 election, it's glaringly obvious what went wrong, and the reason Kathleen Wynne's Liberals now have majority government. Let me state for the record I think Tim Hudak is a decent guy, but probably not leadership material. There have been many other political leaders who have had distinguished careers, only to feel the wrath of voters as they are unable to appeal to the masses. Preston Manning, Michael Ignatieff, Stockwell Day and Preston Manning are the most recent examples.

Hudak's biggest failure was his 100,000 job cuts mantra. Notice I said cuts? That's because that's what every attack ad stated, regardless if they were to be done through attrition. This was met by candidates and canvassers every day throughout the campaign. At the door, on the phone, via email and text, at local debates, that was what gave Wynne her majority. The other part of the failure was the fact that during a 40-day campaign, Hudak and his war room continued to run this as their main campaign plank. Not really smart politics. When they are bashing you over the head with a bat, why keep giving them a heavier bat?

 In my opinion, this election was easily winnable, with a PC majority a very real possibility. During the campaign I did a BLOG POST in the form of advice to Hudak and the war room that was basically ignored while sticking with the million jobs, 100,000 cuts mantra. I received more positive comments on this one blog post  than any I had ever done in the past, including one of my FIRST BLOGPOSTS way back in 2009 challenging the CAW and their refusal to accept concessions to gain government bail-outs to keep Canadian Chrysler and GM workers jobs from being lost. The pressure put on the CAW made them accept those concessions, saving thousands of Canadian jobs in the process.

 Given the Liberal's record of governing since 2003, there was a virtual Pandora's Box of botched government decisions combined with scandal that should have been enough for the PC campaign team to put together a cohesive and effective platform that would have been a resounding success in voters minds. And here it is:

• Removal of HST on heating and electricity bills (rather than a 10% personal income tax cut, connects much easier with voters)
• Elimination of Drive Clean (promised by Hudak and well received by voters)
• Improving the youth unemployment crisis (which should have been announced hand in hand wth CoT elimination. Instead CoT was another union rallying cry)
• Slowing of public sector hiring ( sounds a lot nicer than 100,000 job cuts, no?)
• Convening a round table of the heads of the auto manufacturers together with reps from Unifor on what can be done to get auto sector back to pre 2003 levels. ( takes any attacks from Unifor off the table, and also puts them in the position of either fighting against good paying union jobs or supporting Working Families Coalition)
• A jobs plan that mentions increase in hiring, noting average yearly jobs created prior to 2003 and the average in 11 years of McGuinty/Wynne. (rather than sticking the 1 million number on it, which might as well have been a bullseye)
• Highlighting the scandals with the accumulated costs ($7+ billion )
• Reinstating physiotherapy, eye exams and chiropractor care (in conjunction with a balanced budget, which would have left Wynne vulnerable on two fronts)

 The fact is given the Liberals record of doubled debt and ongoing massive deficits, combined with Ontario voters outraged over sky-high electricity bills and youth unemployment near or at the top of Canada, a narrow direct and focused campaign was all that was needed for victory. Given that fact and the election results, it's time for the PC Party to do a massive purging of those involved in the campaign  platforms of this and the past 4 elections, as mistakes made have not led to lessons learned. Otherwise you might as well get used to Wynne and the Liberals chanting 4 more years all over again in 2018.

What Kathleen Wynne Giveth, She Taketh Away (or fun with numbers)

 I've had an interesting day today talking with either Liberal, NDP or undecided voters. Needless to say, those voting PC do appear to be much more informed voters than the rest. So let's look at a couple of examples. The first is someone aged 21 who told me I was stupid to vote for Hudak and she was voting Liberal because Kathleen Wynne raised the minimum wage, which she is making. So the first thing I did was point out that if Wynne gets re-elected, that 75 cent an hour raise just dropped 22 cents due to the ORPP pension plan Wynne will implement. So she says she doesn't care as she's still ahead. So I ask if she pays an electricity bill, and she replies yes. That bill is $125 every 2 months, so to make it easy, we'll say $60 per month. Wynne has already announced another 32% increase on electricity bills is coming if re-elected.  So that works out to $19.20 per month. So there goes another 13 cents. That 75 cent an hour raise is now down to 40 cents. But there's more. Wynne has announced she will end the 10% green energy rebate on her electricity bill. Long story short, after I pointed out that raise she got will be eaten up by all of Wynne's new taxes and increases in utilities and services, she'll be lucky to break even. I then point out Hudak will give her a 10% reduction in her income taxes, with no increases anywhere else. Kaching! One new PC voter = 1 ex-Lib voter.

 Case 2. A woman I work with says I'm crazy to vote for Hudak as he's going to eliminate the 30% tuition rebate. I ask how much she gets and she tells me around $800 per year, so $2400 over 4 years. I then ask her annual income, and she replies $54,000, with her husband making a similar amount. So I point out if re-elected Wynne's ORPP will cost her $1080 per year for each of her and her husband, for a total of $2160 per year for infinity, also pointing out again that 32% increase in her electricity bill, which is $300 every two months. Kaching! Two more PC voters who are now ex-Liberal voters.

 We need to get the message out with facts. I've done it , and so can you. Do it now!

If Liberal Health Minister Deb Matthews Lied About Madi Vanstone's Medication Being Covered, She Needs To Immediately Withdraw As A Candidate

No excuses, no saying you misunderstood, no saying negotiations are ongoing. Nothing, nada, nilch, zero. Madi sent out a tweet this morning that her mother had just gotten off the phone with Vertex, the company who makes the life-saving drug Kayledeco Madi needs to save her lungs from scarring, and her life. The tweet say Madi's mother just got off the phone with Vertex, who informed her no deal nor negotiations were done.

So Deb Matthews needs to explain immediately if a deal has been consummated to ensure Madi's drugs are covered by the province, or whether she did indeed LIE TO SCORE VOTES. If she lied, nothing Kathleen Wynne or Mathews herself could say to justify the absolute lowest gutter politics ever seen.

The List Of What Union Leaders In Ontario Are Endorsing, And It's Pretty Ugly...

 Since the 2003 Ontario provincial election, unions have been spending millions on attack ads always aimed at whoever is the Ontario PC leader of the day. In both the 2011 and now current election, Tim Hudak has been the target of their attacks. Let's be honest, if the pope was leader of the PC's the unions would be attacking him in the same manner. Both Ernie Eaves and John Tory are also victim of these partisan attacks that reflect not what's best for the province of Ontario or the rank and file these union heads represent, but what many allege are backroom deals worked out between the governing Liberal party of Kathleen Wynne and public sector unions who refuse to accept the fiscal situation of both the province and global economy.

 Now in elections past many have cut the unions some slack, as political activism has always been a part of the union movement. However, this election is unlike any other in the history of the province. Multiple police investigations of the governing party ongoing during a campaign are unheard of in Ontario's history. Scandal after scandal, billion after billion of wasted taxpayer money should be enough for any union leader to look at the other parties as viable options to support. Here's the thing, the McGuinty/Wynne Liberals have a record, a horrible, disgusting record for the past 11 years. We've all seen it. In fact during the campaign we have now seen more scandals coming into view. MaRs, Metrolinx, lawsuits with charges of bid rigging to ensure those connected to the Liberals reap billions in contracts.

 With all that said, let's take a look at what the unions are actually endorsing. As I've stated in the past, I'm willing to debate the heads of any of the unions on live tv, unscripted, to debate them on how they can support what has gone on and what will continue to go on under the Liberals and Kathleen Wynne should she be re-elected:

• Government corruption
• Government waste
• Cronyism costing taxpayers billion$
• Crippling debt and interest payments
• Cutbacks in front line workers to offset bloated management
• Higher Taxes
• Higher Service fees
• De-listed medical services
• 300,000+ lost manufacturing jobs
• Seniors crushed by electricity bills
• Billion dollar cheques to corporations
• Hiding of scandals
• Crumbling infrastructure (11 years more deteriorated)
• Deaths as a result of policies (ORNGE, C-difficile)
• Denied medication, surgery for those in need.

None of the above is defensible. In fact, the union leaders who think these things are worth overlooking really speaks as to how unfit they are to be leaders, as is Kathleen Wynne and the Liberal Party of Ontario. When a government is facing allegations of criminal breach of trust, can anyone really justify supporting them? I can't.

Ajax-Pickering Liberal MPP Joe Dickson Includes Uniformed Police Officers In Campaign Brochure

Hot on the heels of the OPP(a) debacle of running attack ads against Tim Hudak, comes today's mass mailing from incumbent Liberal MPP for Ajax-Pickering Joe Dickson. Dickson's campaign brochure came in the local Ajax News Advertiser newspaper, meaning almost every house in Ajax would receive it. One major problem though, the campaign literature shows Dickson in a photo with 3 Durham police officers, including the retiring Durham police chief, chief designate, and Durham Regional Police Staff Sergeant. Now I doubt these three officers had any idea Dickson would use this picture in his campaign literature, which puts them in the position of unwittingly violating the Public Servants Act of 2006.  Dickson needs to admit his mistake now, apologize to the three officers, and more importantly, the voters of Ajax-Pickering.

The True Health Care Legacy Of Dalton McGuinty And Kathleen Wynne

You know, every time I hear Kathleen Wynne say Tim Hudak will ruin health care I myself start to feel ill. You see, health care in Ontario already is being ruined, and it's been occurring since 2003, the year the McGuinty/Wynne Liberals came into power. I could mention the fact Mike Harris actually increased health care spending at a faster rate than the McGuinty/Wynne Liberals. I could also inform you that Mike Harris increased health care spending at a time when the Liberal federal government , under then Finance Minister Paul Martin was cutting $25 billion from health care. That would be the same Paul Martin now working on Kathleen Wynne's campaign team. Yep, the former finance minister who made the largest cuts to health care spending in Canadian history is one of Wynne's most trusted campaign advisers.

 But I don't really need to. No mention of anything is necessary to show the utter destruction of Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne on our health care system in Ontario. In fact, cuts to health care under the Liberal government have taken their greatest toll on those who need it most. Seniors, the elderly who have paid their taxes and expected to be properly taken care of by their government. The sad reality is that hasn't happened. And the reason rests solely on the shoulders of Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne. Due to their sheer and utter incompetence in governing this province, due to their  #1 priority being to enrichen those with connections to themselves, rather than the people of Ontario, the people who they swore oath to serve and protect. Throwing billions of dollars around in scandals that put no Ontario voters interest in the forefront, but rather to keep themselves in power at any cost.

 To be 100% certain, the Ontario Liberal Party of Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne have left a legacy to be felt for many years ahead, leaving societies most vulnerable citizens as nothing more than collateral damage in their own thirst for power. And that legacy I'm sad to say, is a legacy seniors will suffer and endure through no fault of their own.

OPP Attack Ads Against Tim Hudak A Violation Of Police Services Act?

I'm not sure, but it sure looks that way. Today something unprecedented happened. A police force, in this case the OPP, began to air political attack ads aimed at PC leader Tim Hudak. There a few things troubling about this story. The first point being the OPP CAO is allegedly a person by the name of Karl Walsh. That would most likely be the same Karl Walsh that ran as a Liberal candidate in the 2011 election?



And the second, even more troubling aspect is the OPP may actually be breaking the POLICE SERVICES ACT. Most notably this section:

"Authorized activities

13.  If authorized to do so by the police services board or chief of police, a municipal police officer may, on behalf of the police force,

(a) express views on any issue, as long as the police officer does not, during an election campaign, express views supporting or opposing,

(i) a candidate in the election or a political party that has nominated a candidate in the election, or

(ii) a position taken by a candidate in the election or by a political party that has nominated a candidate in the election; and

(b) subject to clause (a), attend and participate in a public meeting. O. Reg. 268/10, s. 13.

       It also has the affect of putting the OPP in a conflict-of-interest, or at least the appearance of, given the fact the OPP are currently involved in two separate criminal investigations having some connection to the Liberal Party of Kathleen Wynne.

UPDATE: It appears the OPP have pulled the video, which featured a uniformed officer and OPP cruiser, most likely a result of a violation of the rules posted above.

I'm Willing To Wager Kathleen Wynne Is Desperate Enough To Use Madi Vanstone's Illness As This Election's Gas Plant Seat Buy

I think desperation is really starting to set in with soon to be former Premier Kathleen Wynne. She can't even keep her story straight with her finance minister. While she jumps in front of cameras saying she won't cut any public sector jobs, Sousa admits it's going to happen. She tries to turn another Liberal scandal, this one being the MaRs building fiasco, into a positive. I'm still trying to figure out why, if we GAVE the developer $68 million, and loaned another $240+ million, why taxpayers would pay that same $68 million we already gave to buy a building we already own, as allegations are they have already defaulted on the loan.

 Here's the thing. Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne were so desperate to win the last election, they through the taxpayers under the bus to the tune of $1.1 billion by cancelling the gas plants. So with all the scrutiny on the gas plant scandal, ORNGE, and now the MaRS Attack, Wynne needs to be creative in ways to try and buy votes again with our money. And if I was a betting man, I'd bet she's already thinking of that photo-op she can pull off with Madi Vanstone where she announces because of her Madi will now get her life-saving drugs paid for. Of course anyone whose followed the absolute disgrace that Wynne has been handling Madi and her families situation, most would treat it with the disdain it so truly deserves. And Wynne knows that. What she'll be hoping by having that photo-op is that low-information voters, and from what I've seen includes most Liberals, will either be unaware of the Liberal governments incompetent, uncompassionate, carefree attitude towards Madi's plight.

 Now there is some saving grace, that being the fact Madi and her family will finally have that financial burden of the drug costs removed from their shoulders. But the fact is this should have been a no-brainer right from the start. But it wasn't a concern, especially for Kathleen Wynne. While Wynne's been out criss-crossing the province promising millions here, billions there, Madi has been waiting. And waiting, and waiting.

 Now I would hope Kathleen Wynne isn't pathetic enough to try and use Madi's health issues for political gain, but the gas plant scandal clearly show the complete and utter lack of ethics and integrity the Ontario Liberal Party and it's leader Kathleen Wynne have. So ya, I'll make that wager. I'm gonna bet $100 that Wynne is willing to go that low. If I'm right, and Madi gets her deserved medication, I'll donate that $100 to Sick Kids Hospital. If I'm wrong, I'll gladly send that to Madi personally and ask all my followers to do the same.

Some Free Friendly Advice For Tim Hudak

Hey Tim. How are you? It's been a rough couple of days given the mathematical errors in the million jobs plan. Now I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is I think you are sitting at a solid 33%-35% of decided voters. The bad news is that isn't enough to win you the election. Of the 3 big parties, your party is the only party that actually would give Ontario hope moving into the future. Getting the job numbers wrong is a big mistake. It's what you do moving forward that will ensure that, to quote a famous Monty Python skit, 'it's only a flesh wound.

 The million jobs plan has received media airplay since day 1. Despite the errors, it still is a great plan. Now absolutely keep mentioning it. But it's time to start focusing on the pocketbook issues. A million jobs is a great promise. Unfortunately promises made by politicians no longer carry much weight with the public, especially in Ontario where Dalton McGuinty broke pretty much every promise he made. So here's where I would focus my efforts for the next few weeks.

• Electricity costs. This will win you the election. Hammer home the moratorium on green energy you will put in place to stop Wynne's upcoming electricity increase.
• At the same time remind voters of companies like Magna who have publicly stated there will be no new jobs nor investment due to electricity costs.
• Every day, in whichever city or town you are in, whenever the news cameras are on you, mention you will cancel Drive Clean if elected. The response from this at the doors is 100% positive.
• Healthcare. Point out the fact the McGuinty/Wynne Liberals are the champions of health care cuts. Delisting eye exams, chiropractic, physio. 
• Mention the outrage that a government handing out contracts to Liberal insiders worth $66,000 per day refuse to pay $60,000 for medication that would help Madi Vanstone for 1 year.
• Mention cutbacks in cleaning in hospitals, as they try to balance their budgets due to bloated hospital boards.
• Mention OPG as an example of incompetence and the reason for high energy costs. OPG has reduced manpower 8.5% and increased management 60%
• Remind voters that roughly 10 cents per liter of gas is directly from Liberals adding hst to the price of gas.  

These are just a handful of things to use during the campaign. The campaign had great momentum at the start, much the result of getting a different message or policy out every day. Return to that, switching between the points made above, and any you feel can help. As for those errors in the jobs plan, it's important to reaffirm to voters that the plan can work. Here are a few things worthy of mention.

• A leader of a party desperate to win an election by attacking her opponent rather than campaigning on her own governments record should be enough to convince voters it's time for change.
• The original release of the million jobs plan stated the figures were conservative.
• The Ontario economy has averaged 85,000 jobs created since 1977. Using that average for 8 years you get 680,000. The jobs plan listed 523,000, which looks to be, yes, a conservative estimate
• Despite the conflict with the CBoC report, the report does still confirm job creation and economic growth resulting from both personal and corporate income tax cuts.
• The number of jobs (4400) from developing the Ring of Fire is lower than estimates from both the Liberals and NDP.
• The McGuinty/Wynne Liberals have been wrong with their budget estimates and job numbers every year since taking office.
• If spending money creates jobs, how is it the McGuinty/Wynne Liberals have increased the provinces debt by close to $160 billion, while at the same time Ontario lags behind the rest of Canada in job growth?
• Under Mike Harris Ontario created 1,175,00 (h/t Sandy:0) jobs in 8 years, some of the best growth ever seen not just in Ontario, but in the entire country through history.

The chart below really validates which party and which parties policies are best for the people of Ontario. Given the history of both the Harris years and the McGuinty/Wynne years, there really is nothing to think about.
