Ignatieff Goes Rambo Over Tory Ads
Courtesy of ChuckerCanuck and Joanne at Blue Like You, it appears Iggy has now gone into Rambo mode, with this scary quote: "if you mess with me, I will mess with you until I'm done.''
Sorry Iggy, but I don't think the PM will be losing any sleep over that one. Perhaps you should be worrying about more important things, like putting aloe on that nasty burn you probably got in Bermuda. Or figuring out a way to explain to Canadian's why the Liberal's put the current E.I. qualifying rules in with an unemployment rate of 10%, and why you think the rules are unfair at 8%.
Because I have a feeling your going to get called on that soon.
p.s. Algonquin Park is beautiful this time of year, and I'm sure Canadian's would have been more impressed to see you spend you stimulus dollars here, rather than the country Paul Martin set up and uses as a tax haven for CSL.
It was interesting that Mr.Ignatieff needed a get away during the UAW/GM crisis, down was a week past the point that the government should have resolved it. As well the unemployed were still roaming the streets in numbers not seen since before Harper took office(unless his Tamil friends decide to block those streets). Who was to intervene on the LTTE's behalf when MI (Missing in Action) was once again out of the country?
ReplyDeleteDoes Ignatieff have the work ethic to be PM? He took Christmas off to work on some writing. Then off to Bermuda for some R&R. Does he know that the PM job is a full time job?
Question to Ignatieff: " If these EI rule relaxing are only temporary measures, when will they be discontinued? At what level would unemployment need to be to get back to "normal"?
" Canadian's would have been more impressed to see you spend you stimulus dollars here, rather than the country Paul Martin set up and uses as a tax haven for CSL."
ReplyDeleteOuch!
''I will mess with you until I'm done.''
ReplyDeleteLOL, ok Iffy
finish yourself off then!
Those truth ads must be working,eh!
BTW, this is the second time Iffy has warned PMSH not to attack him.
'We get a flash of the Igniron Fist when a reporter asks about the anticipated attack ads from the Conservative Party. “Do you want me to write the ads?”
He asks, before revertly briefly to Dark Lord of Don’t Mess With Me mode, warning the PM that such a tactic would be most unwise.'
Macleans, Dec 10,2008
"It would seem to me ... a very, very serious mistake to engage in partisan attacks against a party leader at this moment.
I hope I make myself clear," Ignatieff said, squinting ominously into the cameras.
"if you mess with me, I will mess with you until I'm done.''
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure this comment is getting the response Ignatieff expected. The morning anchor on CTV was having a lot of fun with it.
According to Wikipedia, Bermuda "Is the oldest and most populous remaining British overseas territory, settled by England a century before the Acts of Union created the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Bermuda's first capital, St. George's, was settled in 1612 and is the oldest continuously inhabited English town in the Americas."
Also "the United States is by far Bermuda's largest trading partner - providing over 71% of total imports, 85% of tourist visitors."
I guess he must have felt right at home.
Rambo only? I was thinking more like PeeWee Herman hulking out like well, the Hulk.
ReplyDeleteBut I think it would have been even more menacing if he had of elaborated a bit more a la Dirty Iggy Callihan; "do you feel lucky punk, well do you? this is a 375 magnum and it'l clean blow your head off and you gotta ask youself etc etc"
That would have had Harper quaking for sure.
Barbadoes not Bermuda is Paul Martin's haven of choice. Unfortunately we have to wait till after the next election to get the truth on CSL
ReplyDelete"Barbadoes not Bermuda is Paul Martin's haven of choice. Unfortunately we have to wait till after the next election to get the truth on CSL"
ReplyDeleteYou are partially right, as am I.:
csl’s international division is based in a cinderblock low-rise in Beverly, Massachusetts, on the outskirts of Boston, but registered as an International Business Corporation (ibc) in the Caribbean tax shelter of Barbados. The Barbadian corporation, in turn, is owned by a holding company in Bermuda, another offshore fiscal paradise. Over the past seven years, that labyrinthine set-up has managed to save csl International and its Montreal-based parent, the csl Group, millions in Canadian taxes.
"if you mess with me, I will mess with you until I'm done"
ReplyDeleteIs this Christmas for Harper again?
Tough stuff coming from a fellow who's just earned his big-boy pants and playing in the bid leagues.
I've got news for Iggy. You're done. It's just that the same dudes who talked you into coming back to Canada are keeping the truth from you.
Rambo's not close Paul
Mr. Ignatieff more closely resembles. Jethro Bodine when he tried to join the Biddle Birdwatchers of Beverly Hills, or when he tried to become the Beverly Hills Possum King.
Hey, maybe Canada needs a Possum King? I know a great candidate for the job.
Check out O'Malley's blog;
ReplyDeleteshe wonders if this is like all the other hills Iffy had to walk down

Perhaps the Libs are close to ready for an election, we should never assume they are not...
but they must remember one thing
the day after the election,
PMSH is planning for the next one.
How much money ARE the reporters,CBC,CTV,G/M, T/S, TABER AND COM ETC... donating to their corrupt liberal party that still owe us MONEY.
ReplyDeletecAN YOU IMAGINE giving money to someone or coorpation like the lpoc, that owes you money.
Wait a minute.
ReplyDeleteWas the Rambo comment meant to overshadow Iffy's rallying the provincial Libs, on DANNY'S TURF?
The number one authority on Nfld politics says today:
'The provincial Liberal Party convention looks for all the world like the first big sign of a political party on the come-back trail.'

Isn't Danny's government battling yet another scandal?
Iffy smells blood, is Danny next?
What is funny is that Iggy will not get your jokes, AS HE WAS NOT HERE!
